Miles Athey is a Ritzvillian who pens inspirational writings,
western humor and some of the most creative and uplifting
PowerPoint Presentations you'll ever experience. In other
words, he was born in Ritzville, Washington. 
     After high school graduation in 1960, he ventured on to
college, then the proverbial career. He returned to Ritzville in
1999 to care for his ailing mother and resides there today.
     Miles has three daughters and one son, all living in western
Washington. They have blessed him with three grandsons and
four granddaughters.
     His passions include golfing, fishing, writing and theater.
In the past 16 years, Miles has participated in 27 community
theater productions with seven different theater companies,
performing in 19 roles and serving as director in eight pro-
ductions.
     Miles has written five books, eight stage plays, dozens of
inspirational writings, two books of poetry and is the author
of over 300 technical articles on business, education, engineer-
ing, science and health.
     With nearly 40 years of experience, Miles has served as a
technical consultant to industry, business, government and
educational institutions. He has earned advanced degrees
in several sciences including a PhD in environmental
toxicology.
     Dr. Athey is a certified secondary education and community
college teacher in Washington and California. He has served
on the faculties of San Jose State University and Seattle Pacific
University teaching courses in the sciences and business.
     In 1993, Miles founded ACS Indoor Air Quality which per-
forms indoor environmental assessments for school districts,
medical facilities, industrial complexes, office buildings,
government facilities and private residences.
