The Poetry of Miles Athey
War Must Be Fun

I’ve thought it all through I think I know why Men are so eager To kill and to die.
Fathers have trained them It’s right to bear arms Learn to shoot straight son Protect us from harm.
Now go out and hunt Get sharp with your aim Someday you’ll need it To hunt down big game.
There's no other time When killing's as fun As in a great war When a “man” totes a gun.
